Anthony Hollis

Managing Director, Data Governance Australia

Anthony is Managing Director of Data Governance Australia (DGA), a not-for-profit industry association assisting its members optimise their organisation’s data management, security and capability.

Anthony has over 40 years’ experience as a senior executive across a broad range of diverse and challenging roles. Prior to his role at DGA, Anthony served as an executive, advisor and board member for companies such as Time Warner, CanWest Communications, Kronos, Network Ten, EY, PwC, Supply Nation and the Northern Sydney Local Health District Board.

Anthony is passionate about driving strategy and implementation in order to deliver measurable, sustainable value to all stakeholders.  

Donna South

Marketing and Communications Manager, Weld Australia

Donna South is the Marketing and Communications Manager of Weld Australia, the peak representative body for welding in Australia. She is dedicated to ensuring that Weld Australia promotes the interests of its members, demonstrates value to its members, and works together with members towards positive outcomes for the entire industry. Donna believes in turning every Weld Australia member into a raving fan.

In 2018, she successfully led the association’s rebrand from the Welding Technology Institute of Australia (WTIA) to Weld Australia. In addition, Donna has managed the development and implementation of a bespoke membership management system and integrated website, and regularly organises major events, such as national conferences and awards dinners attended by hundreds of delegates. 

Dr Julia Evans

Director, Communications and Engagement, Australian Academy of the Humanities

Julia is the Director, Communications and Engagement with the Australian Academy of the Humanities. Established by Royal Charter in 1969 and comprised of an elected Fellowship of over 620 leading Australian humanities scholars and practitioners, the Academy’s work aims to ensure ethical, historical and cultural perspectives inform discussions regarding Australia’s future challenges and opportunities.

Prior to joining the Academy, Julia has consulted extensively in developing education strategy and public engagement initiatives since the mid-1990s with corporates, peak bodies and not-for-profits.

John Peacock

Chief Executive Officer, Associations Forum

John is the Chief Executive Officer of Associations Forum, is one of Australia’s most experienced advisors to associations and charities and is a thought leader for the not-for-profit sector. With a BCom (University of NSW), he has held senior management and Directorship roles with various not-for-profit organisations. Since 2000, John has trained and consulted to hundreds of associations and charities, large and small, on strategic planning, governance, board effectiveness, operations, restructuring and financial issues.

As well as engagement on specific projects, John’s consulting business undertakes whole-of-organisation reviews of associations and charities. John’s operational specialisation is developing plans that can be translated into actions, budgets and job descriptions. His change specialisation is in the field of mergers of associations.

Jonathan Casson

Partner, Holman Webb Lawyers

Jonathan leads Holman Webb’s national Business, Corporate and Commercial group and our not-for-profit group in Sydney. A transactional lawyer with international and domestic experience, he is widely recognised by his peers for his expertise and technical ability.

With more than 30 years’ experience, Jonathan advises private and public sector clients including associations and charities on governance and compliance, off-market M & A, structuring business activities, corporate constitutional and strategic and member issues, commercial contracts, competition and consumer law, and intellectual property. 

Nick Sharp-Paul

Head of Strategy and Communication, Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia

Nick leads SHPA’s publications, membership, media and communications activities, including the flagship titles Australian Injectable Drugs Handbook and Don’t Rush to Crush, member-led magazine Pharmacy GRIT, and online communications that keep members engaged and involved in SHPA’s many programs, products and services.

Formerly Media Advisor at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Nick supports SHPA’s growing alliances and stakeholder engagement by building awareness through proactive media and partnering with members to tell their stories, shaping SHPA’s vision and strategies for the future of hospital pharmacy in Australia.

Summit Chair: Philippa Shelley Jones

Editor, ASSOCIATIONS

Philippa produces Associations Forum’s flagship publication ASSOCIATIONS, which is a 28-page glossy publication distributed in print and digital formats three times a year. She is responsible for all aspects of the magazine including content development, writing articles, design management and editorial.

Philippa holds Bachelors of Arts/Laws from UNSW and worked as a solicitor in a large Sydney law firm for 13 years. She has also worked as a contract editor and has completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors Company Directors Course™.

Wendy Rapee

General Manager, Primary English Teaching Association Australia

Wendy is General Manager at Primary English Teaching Association Australia (PETAA) and has had a strong connection with the Educational Publishing industry over her career.

Her qualifications: BA Library & Information Science, BA English/Sociology, and Certificate IV in Graphic Design. Her qualifications and career have now converged in the work she does in the professional associations space. She is passionate about targeted content, quality editorial processes, and good instructional design and how they translate strategically for a purpose.
